  • Re-doing the fret slots
  • Installing the frets
  • Tang Nipping when required
  • Fret End Treatment
  • Profiling and crowning of frets
  • Professional Setup
  • A new Bone Nut

Please note that the Re-Fret does not include strings and that you take the risk of string breakage by re-using an old set

Defretting

This procedure requires a high level of skill and expertise in the field of luthiery and includes the following:

  • De-Fretting the instrument
  • Planing the board
  • Installing maple in the fret slots
  • Professional Setup
  • A new Bone Nut

Please note that the Re-Fret does not include strings and that you take the risk of string breakage by re-using an old set

Board Planing

Board planning enables the wood of the neck to be perfectly straight in order to install the fret as level as possible to minimise the fret alignment process. This is very effective if a hump is formed on the neck over time. We can add wood shims in place of the fret holes to leave markings in order to turn your instrument into a fretless with clear fret markers.
